Walk the Road With Jesus

PK April 2023

Late March the clergy of our conference were invited to join with Bishop Lanette Plambeck at Camp Koronis for “a day apart.” It was a wonderful day to connect with friends and colleagues. While together, Bishop Plambeck spoke of the love and welcome God has for each of us. Knowing we are entering the final days of Lent and the miracle of resurrection and Easter, she reminded us God’s love for us is not reliant upon our actions. God’s love for us reaches beyond brokenness, fear, guilt, addiction, disease, shame, even death itself to welcome us into a new relationship of love, belonging and caring. She said “you are welcome in this place and this place would not be the same without you.”

Those words impacted me. Not only are we welcome and valued, but each place we go is changed by our presence.

And so this Easter season, we are invited to walk the road of Jesus through his passion and pain on Maundy Thursday at Asbury UMC (6:30 pm) and Good Friday at United Protestant Church UCC, 830 88th Ave W, Duluth, MN (6:00 pm).

We will also gather to celebrate the amazing miracle of resurrection on Sunday morning, and I want you to know that you are welcome! Our community and fellowship is not the same without your presence with us. Christ is Risen! Christ is risen indeed, and us with him. Let’s celebrate together!

Blessings and Peace,

Katherine
